In a cooperation with the Mexican Ministry of Environment (SEMARNAT), the German Ministry of Environment (BMU) and GIZ Mexico, the CLI analyzed the potential and limitations of applying a Blockchain Approach to three specific climate instruments. In that context the study examines the suitability of a Blockchain approach for an Emissions Trading System (ETS), for MRV systems for mitigation actions and for a tracking system for climate Finance.
